In autumn 2023, the Friends of the Hatton lecture programme is focussing on art in public space and the role of artists in planning and urban design. In September we are looking forward to welcoming Prof Wolfgang Weileder, who will speak about the changing and challenging relationship between art and architecture, followed by a lecture by Dr Julie Crawshaw who will introduce her research into artists’ placements with examples in Berwick upon Tweed and Holy Island. Finally, in November we are hoping to welcome Prof Vee Pollock to discuss public art in the North East with the lecture date still to be confirmed.
If you are interested in attending any of our talks, please email hatton.friends@btinternet.com.
Please note, the talks are free for members and £5 for non-members.
