Friends Bulletin February 2023

I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome our new members. I hope you find your time with us rewarding and fun.

As I write this article, it’s a very cold day, one of many we have experienced since the beginning of this New Year. We are probably all concerned about the dramatic rise in our utilities costs and all the other cost of living increases as well as the ongoing was in Ukraine.

These worries can affect our thoughts and actions as we go about our daily lives. However, its times like this when we need to focus on the good things happening in our lives, things we often take for granted. I’m writing this article in my study and though the window I can see a lovely view (picture) of the countryside with the winter sun in the background.

It’s a wonderful example of something I often take for granted each day. It’s only when I get the time to stop and look that I really appreciate the view. My wife, who is an artist, can focus her mind on painting in ways that reflect some of the social issues of the day.

I do hope that you, Friends of the Hatton, find ways of exploring your own moments of joy through the ‘Arts’ which are so important in our lives.
