Reminder – Notice of re-convened AGM 2025

To all members of Friends of the Hatton.

This year’s Annual General Meeting, which was held on 5 th April 2025, was adjourned because some essential committee posts could not be filled. The posts were:

  • Chair
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary

If these posts are not filled the Friends of the Hatton as an organisation will come to an end.

Since the April AGM, the existing committee has been looking at ways to resolve this but has been unable to arrive at a satisfactory conclusion. For the Friends of the Hatton to continue as a functional organisation under Charitable status it is essential committee posts are filled, in particular, the threeposts mentioned above. Without these appointments being made at the reconvened AGM, the Friends of the Hatton as an organisation would come to an end.

Notification of the retirement of the current postholders has been set out in various FotH bulletins sent to the full membership during 2024/25

Please try to attend the reconvened AGM as a good representation of the membership is needed to progress this issue.

Perhaps you or someone you know could fulfil the roles in one of these posts.

Overview of key functions of postholders (not exhaustive)

  • Chair: Oversees committee meetings (4 per year) and AGM
  • Secretary. Convenes committee meetings and AGM. Prepares agendas andminutes. Liaises with Treasure to update membership data base. General communications. (Basic computer skills required).
  • Treasurer. Records membership payments. Liaises with Secretary on new members. Maintains organisations accounts. Payments of occasional fees and invoices. Liaises with Charity commission. (Basic computer skills required).
