Learning notes

We have had a very active Autumn in Learning at the Hatton Gallery this year.

The exhibition. ‘Some Kind of Love; Actions and Reactions to Living on a Damaged Planet’ Is by Uta Kogelsberger who is a Professor in the Fine Art Department and an award winning artist. Through a series of interconnected works spanning video, sound and installation, the exhibition continues Kögelsberger’s sustained investigation of the complex relationships between human and ecological systems in a time of environmental change

We have had schools attending from as far afield as Nottingham and Leeds and our regular local schools as well of course to see Uta Kögelsberger’s exhibition. We have also been delivering outreach sessions to several schools in the area who will be taking part in our Jerwood Collection exhibition in Spring 2026.

As well as schools we have had our over 50’s group, Creative Age attending every Tuesday and a relatively new group for adults attending called, Explore Art. We’ve had a lovely new session delivered called Poetry and Place working with The Special Collections team at Robinson Library with several secondary schools, exploring poetry and art.

Thanks once again to Jo from the Friends for organising a programme of talks and art workshops.
