Late Summer Exhibition

The exhibition, which was held in the Ex Libris Gallery, ran from 10th to 24th of September. This is a relatively short period compared with our exhibitions in earlier times.  However, this was the only time slot Newcastle University where able to make available and we were grateful for that.  The Ex Libris gallery is linked to the Hatton and as many will know is in the same building complex.

Members of the hanging committee, hard at work on  hand-in day

Although there were no sales, there was general agreement between staff, participants and visitors that this was one of the best exhibitions of our work to date with 34 artists exhibiting 61 works.

Sadly, the limited time was made even shorter as the space was not available on Sundays and there was also the closure in respect of the funeral of Her Majesty the Queen.

Some artworks waiting to be hung

Members carried out invigilating during most of the period. From this it was estimated that there were at least 170 visitors leaving numerous positive comments.

The committee would like to extend its appreciation to all those who worked for and participated in the exhibition. This contributed greatly towards re-establishing our annual shows. Appreciation is also extended to the staff of the Hatton and Newcastle University, all of who could not have been more helpful.
